Can you tell me a little more about the self pick-up room at the farm?
-Our self pick-up room isn't fancy, but it is functional and accessible. The room is a garage bay in our barn. We have three chest freezers in the room. You can access the room via a walk-through door that has a red sticker on it that reads "Pick-up Room". There is also a garage door to the right of it that can be opened for easier loading of multiple boxes. You can back your vehicle up to the garage door to load.
The room is accessible seven days a week during daylight hours. If your schedule only allows for after dark pick-up, please let us know so we know who is at the barn after dark. There is a payment box in the room to leave cash/check payments in if you selected that option at checkout. If you pay with a credit card, you just need to pick up your items after you receive an email with confirmation your order is packed.
Is processing an extra charge for freezer beef?
-Processing, labels and vacuum packaging on all cuts other than hamburger are included in the price for freezer beef. Hamburger is packaged in 1 or 2# plastic sleeves called Chubs. If you are picking up your beef from the butcher, there are no additional charges.
If you are picking up your beef from the farm, or having it delivered, you will need to select a corresponding Boxing and Storage or Boxing and Transportation options from the selection menu where you choose the kill date. If your freezer beef is being delivered, the delivery fee is a separate charge from the Boxing and Transportation.
Do you have a physical store to shop in?
-This website is the only way we market and sell our products. We don't have a store. We do have a self pick-up room on the farm. If you select the option to pick up at the farm we will pack your order in between tasks around the farm and we'll email you when it is ready to pick up. It is usually ready within 1-3 days from the time you place your order, but it can be delayed during busy seasons around the farm. If you choose delivery, we will deliver it on the scheduled day of your choice.
Do you offer tours of the farm?
-We don't offer regular tours of the farm. We work closely with Butler County Soil and Water, Ohio State Extension and other groups that share our values to offer topic specific tours at various times. We may offer tours during special events at the farm, those will be advertised on our social media pages and through our email list.
